THE HORSE REVEALED PHILOSOPHY
Horses are masters of communication. They are always communicating with us and asking questions about the boundaries of our relationship and what action it is we seek from them. However, most of this dialogue is so subtle that their human partners fail to see it. It is this lack of understanding that leads to problems and disharmony. From seemingly innocuous behaviour, such as a horse pulling to get to the grass, through to major issues such as rearing, charging, striking, bolting and so on, they all have the same root problem - faulty communication. When our communication process is flawed we often favour applying force to fix the issue. Examples of this can be seen every day from strapping closed the mouth of a horse with a drop noseband so that he "cant evade the bit" through to whipping a frightened or aggressive horse to get it to do what you ask. In the first instance the horse is signalling he has a problem with the bit that could be due to many reasons from unrefined hands through to dental issues. However, the noseband solution merely disguises the issue it does not resolve it.
The second example, of whipping, rarely gets a satisfactory result and often all that is achieved is to reinforce the fear or aggressive response as being appropriate for that particular situation. In the horse's view not only did he have to face a situation he was worried about but he also got whipped when he showed his apprehension, which now provides him with twice the motivation to avoid all similar situations in the future - probably with some element of explosive behaviour being his favoured avoidance strategy. These examples are similar to shouting at a person that speaks a foreign language in the vain hope that they will comprehend our meaning as a result of our increased volume!
Conversely well meaning individuals, unable to see the real questions being asked, often allow boundaries to be compromised in their attempt to be helpful, resulting in a bigger problem than the one they started with. So what is the answer? By working with the horse revealed trainer, who is currently the FIRST and ONLY person to be trained and certified by BOTH the internationally acclaimed horse behavioural expert Monty Roberts and classical dressage expert Heather Moffett, you will learn to a) see what the horse is REALLY saying to you and b) develop strategies to improve your relationship, regardless of the challenges you face. Problems will be resolved by working closely with both horse and handler in order to allow the beauty of THE HORSE TO BE TRULY REVEALED.
